Marconi Park

In 1913 Guglielmo Marconi broke ground on the "Biggest Marconi Station" in Franklin Park, NJ.  The New Brunswick Naval Radio Station, located on JFK Boulevard and Easton Avenue, became the principal wartime communication link between the United States and Europe during World War I.  In 1918, it hosted President Woodrow Wilson as he transmitted his famous Fourteen Points speech to Europe.

In 1992, Joseph (Giuseppe) Fama became a leader in preserving this historical landmark before it was forgotten to modern development.  He donated his time and resources to landscaping the piece of land where his fellow Italian countryman had made history so many years previously.

Please join us in donating to the Raritan-Millstone Heritage Alliance who continue's to honor the mission to "promote preservation and understanding of the rich eventful and cultural heritage of significant historical, educational, and cultural sites located in the Raritan-Millstone region of New Jersey."

"At North Brunswick Township High School, students with cognitive disabilities have the opportunity to take academics out into the real world by participating in the POSSibilities Program: Providing Opportunities for Students' Success.  Students identify future goals and complete career interest and work skills inventories. Students and staff meet to select a work setting for the marking period based on each student's abilities and interests. Each student follows a training plan which describes the tasks they will be completing, along with the core curriculum content standards they will be focusing on at the job site. Students spend about an hour a day, three days a week at their assigned location. At the end of each marking period, the students will reflect upon their experiences. Throughout the school year, the students will add artifacts to a portfolio filled with assessments, reflections, pictures, and a resume. The POSSibilities Program allows students to transition from school to adult life by developing moral character and practical skills by facing real-world challenges. Students gain confidence that will allow them to become productive members of their community. There are twenty-seven students involved with the POSSibilities Program."
